Debutante

(aka creative writing and performance)

In addition to s̶e̶l̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶  composing compelling copy, I write creative non-fiction and pieces for performance. Enjoy the artistic endeavors represented below, ideal for audiences not yet sick of seeing my face.

Creative Writing

I have an uncanny ability to find the biggest loser in the room and befriend them. This syndrome - my sister calls it "Florence Nightengale of the Marginalized" - fuels a lot of subject matter. The included piece, "Expecting", is a fragmented essay inspired by a friend's pregnancy, Greek choruses, and an interview with Helen Mirren in The Guardian. Click here to read "Expecting".

Interview

A while back, I won a Writing Fellowship Award from my alma mater. Part of my prize was being interviewed for the school's website...and (presumably) praising the (expensive) school's role in my formation as a burgeoning young(ish) writer. Win-win, right?
